Santa for a Senior- 23rd November-14th December
As Christmas approaches it’s easy to get swept away in the excitement and frenzy of all the festivities but whilst families and friends are celebrating, many elderly people find the holiday season a difficult time.
Over half of all people over the age of 75 live on their own in the UK, and for those who might not have family members nearby, loneliness can be a real issue, especially at Christmas.
That’s why we are supporting Home Instead’s Santa for a Senior campaign. This gift giving scheme identifies lonely or isolated older people in our community and then delivers them a present, just in time for the big day.
How you can get involved
Choose an ornament with a gift request from our Christmas tree which you can find next to Bonmarche and Newcastle Building Society, then bring your gift up to the Manor Walks Centre Management Offices and Home Instead will deliver all the gifts to our ageing community. Every gift, big or small, makes a world of difference.
To ensure every senior gets their gift in time for Christmas, please submit all donations by 14th December.
